Why department chairs should cultivate intentional and inclusive learning environments

Has one of your students or faculty recently asked you, “Is there an online version of this class being offered?” Any number of reasons might motivate such a question. One perspective is that students and educators got too comfortable with remote learning during the pandemic and have determined they would rather don pajamas and enjoy the convenience of their home over their campus. Although it's true that pajamas may be more comfortable than work attire and that home may be more convenient than your campus, there is far more to this conversation that demands our attention.
