Today, many pipelines are in operation in the oil and gas industry and are manufactured from carbon steel of API specification and different grades. In this study, the effect of potassium dichromate K<sub>2</sub>Cr<sub>2</sub>O<sub>7</sub> and 5-methyl-1<i>H</i>-benzotriazol (5MBT) on the corrosion behavior of American Petroleum Institute (API) N80 steel in Albian water (aquifer water) was studied. For the electrochemical analysis we have realized new experimental test bench, the inhibitory efficiency of each compound was evaluated using polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
