The flux leakage in the no-magnetic ring leads to an uneven distribution of flux density in the core due to the modular cooperation structure. Subsequently, variations in the fundamental flux density amplitudes in the PM field and the armature reaction field are obtained with changes in the thickness of the no-magnetic ring. In addition, the impact of no-magnetic ring thickness on machine torque and core loss is analyzed to determine the optimal thickness for the no-magnetic ring.
