Chemical Destruction of Tokem-308 Cationite (Analog of KU-2x8) in the HNO3(vapor)–Air Atmosphere
The chemical transformation of the Tokem-308 cationite (analog of KU-2x8) in an HNO3(vapor)–air atmosphere obtained as a result of vaporization of 12 M HNO3 is described. The gas-phase treatment of Tokem-308 samples in this atmosphere at 403–443 K for 4–24 h changes some of their physical (mass, color, etc.) and chemical (solubility in H2O, NaOH, C2H5OH, acetone) properties. 2,4-Dinitrophenylacetic acid and para-nitrobenzoic acid were found among the products of the transformation of the Tokem-308 resin in the HNO3(vapor)–air atmosphere.
