Its crystal structure is based on Cu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> planes, which a previous structural study indicates consist of two kinds of copper. Its metastability on heating is uncovered. The magnetization and heat capacity of the material are characterized, and it undergoes several magnetic ordering transitions in an easily accessible temperature range.
