Study finds distance from care affects minority groups most

Patients who were enrolled in a coordinated specialty care program for early psychosis were less likely to remain engaged in treatment if they had to travel greater distances for appointments, a new study has reported. This effect was more pronounced among members of minority populations, suggesting that administrators of these programs need to be intentional about where to locate their services.
