Notably, placebo analgesia responders displayed reduced anxiety-like behaviors. 16S rRNA results revealed a distinct composition of gut microbiota composition among the control, placebo analgesia non-responders and responders groups. Notably, levels of <em>Escherichia Shigella</em> and <em>Klebsiella</em> in the gut were increased considerably in the placebo analgesia responders as compared to both control and non-responders groups.
