Empowering futures: navigating career-specific parental behaviors, calling, and planning among senior clinical medical students
This study aims to explore the relationships among career-specific parental behaviors, job calling, and career planning of senior clinical medical students. The study’s results confirmed that parental career support was positively related to job calling and career planning. On the contrary, parental career interference and lack of engagement were negatively associated with job calling and career planning. Furthermore, job calling was confirmed to mediate the relationship between career-specific parental behaviors and career planning. These findings offer valuable insights that can inform medical students’ career behaviors and contribute to effective career guidance practices.
