The discussion is based on a review of the literature.</p><!--/ Abstract__block -->\n<h3>Design/methodology/approach</h3>\n<p>This article presents a qualitative study investigating the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies on the workforce turnover rate in the tourism and hospitality industry in general.</p><!--/ Abstract__block -->\n<h3>Findings</h3>\n<p>Although Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies have both positive and negative aspects for the hospitality and tourism industry and its employees, these technologies can be used to reduce the factors that cause employee turnover.
