PURPOSE OF REVIEW Dysregulation in neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation and degradation has been reported in several inflammatory rheumatic diseases. SUMMARY Growing evidence has suggested the contribution of NET dysregulation to the pathogenesis of several inflammatory rheumatic diseases. Further research is warranted in regard to clinical impact of modulating aberrant NET formation and clearance in inflammatory rheumatic diseases.
