Rodent bioassay-derived long-term worker Derived No-Effect Levels (DNELs) were deemed presumptively the most reliable, but only 19 such DNELs were available for the 84 substances with TRV gaps. In the absence of DNELs, the quality of the approaches and consistency among candidate values were key elements of the weight of evidence used to select the most suitable guideline values.
