The first special issue is led by Joseph Carvalko Jr., Chairperson, Technology and Ethics, Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics, Institution for Public and Social Policy Studies \n<xref>[1]</xref>\n; and the second special issue is led by Clinton Andrews of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University and previously the President of the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology \n<xref>[2]</xref>\n. In this guest editorial we provide a brief Introduction to the special issues and an overview of each of the accepted papers.
