Research on discharge characteristics of synthetic ester-paper insulation under power frequency and low frequency
Synthetic ester insulating oil transformer has broad application prospects in offshore wind power low-frequency power transmission. This paper carried out discharge tests on synthetic ester-paper insulated used sharp plate electrodes at a power frequency of 50 Hz and a low frequency of 17 Hz based on the pulse current method. The research results show that some basic characteristics do not change under 50 Hz and 17 Hz, that is, the discharge is distributed near the voltage peak in a peak shape. The main differences are that the positive peak characteristics at 17 Hz tend to be blurred; the positive maximum discharge amount, and discharge times show an overall downward trend; the phase-resolved partial discharge pattern (PRPD) and the statistical map (n-φ, n-q) have the same overall shape, but different distribution ranges. The test results can be used as a reference for partial discharge pattern identification and insulation design in synthetic ester low-frequency transformers.
