We therefore examined anti-neuronal antibodies using tissue-based immunohistochemical assays with frozen rat cerebellum sections. We detected autoantibodies that mainly reacted with the cytoplasm of Purkinje cells. The two patients then underwent immunotherapies, which led to substantial improvements in their clinical symptoms.
