Attention is paid to methods of early detection of water level rise to minimize the consequences. Modern remote sensing technologies, which complement traditional hydrological observation methods, present new opportunities for observation and forecasting of flood situations. Examples of remote sensing data and statistical data illustrate the effectiveness of modern technologies.
