These however make grading time consuming and costly, therefore an automated system that can handle the tasks is highly desirable. The developed automated essay grading system in this research is restricted to grading of short and structured essay responses. Java programming language was used for the implementation and MySQL relational database system with WAMPSERVER as the back end. The results showed the user-friendly modules which enable users to navigate through various interfaces easily and work as required.
