Evaluation of the efficacy of a moisturiser by the use of high-frequency ultrasonography

With the launch of new cosmetics and cosmetic therapies, there is a growing awareness among customers who increasingly expect reliable evidence of the efficacy of these products. This requires conducting application studies, which frequently rely on self-evaluation or visual assessment of participants due to the absence of diagnostic tools, hence impeding the generation of relevant results. High-frequency ultrasonography is a promising approach that can be used to address this deficiency by enabling the non-invasive monitoring of alterations in the skin. This study aimed to describe the findings about the effectiveness of a moisturiser, which was evaluated by highfrequency ultrasonography. The collected results have verified that modifications in the parameters examined can be utilised to assess the effectiveness of the preparation. The results of this study support the conclusion that ultrasonography is a valuable technique for evaluating the effectiveness of cosmetic products and can be extensively employed for this purpose.
