This review focuses on the characterization of OPW. The treatment of organic pollutants in wastewater using AOPs, such as ozonation, Fenton oxidation-based processes, heterogeneous photocatalysis, and persulfate oxidation, is comprehensively reviewed in terms of their efficiency for pollutant degradation.
