Indonesia is the world's second-largest coal exporter and a major source of coal to Asian countries. In the last ten years, the mining industry generated 5-8% of Indonesia's GDP, with coal accounting for roughly 80% of the figure. Meanwhile, coal will contribute 170 percent of the PNBP objective in 2022. The coal mining industry continues to contribute positively to the country's economy.
