NICU mothers need emotional support that is conveniently delivered at the infant's point-of-care by a trusted professional who is knowledgeable about the medical and nursing care in the NICU. Listening Visits are an effective and accessible, nurse-delivered depression intervention, yet little is known about what mothers discuss during these sessions. This analysis of sessions recorded during the randomized controlled trial evaluation of Listening Visits in the NICU provides a glimpse into NICU mothers' concerns and experiences.</p><p><strong>Study design and methods: </strong>This is a secondary, qualitative case analysis of the recorded Listening Visits sessions of four depressed NICU mothers as indicated by a score of 12 or above on the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale.
