However, hybrid powertrains provide a solution by combining electric and internal combustion engines to achieve better fuel economy and similar operational characteristics to traditional engines. Hybrid systems can also use alternative hydrocarbon fuels , with all advantages of conventional engines. This study aimed to determine the impact of alternative fuels on the performance of a hybrid drive system for a military wheeled platform developed for operation in urban areas.
