For this purpose, a contextualizing analysis on practice research is first conducted. Thereby, the essential points of criticism and potentials of artistic research are elaborated from the point of view of epistemic injustice and decolonizing approaches. Following on from this, artistic research is discussed as a promising approach to research and teaching in popular music.
