Pierre Bourdieu refers to some concepts, such as habitus, field and capital to explain the phenomena in social life. In this study, we examined the projections of the concepts that Pierre Bourdieu applies to the phenomena in everyday practice in the context of Twitter, which is believed to be a determinative social media platform for the formation of individual and social opinion. We examined the influence of Twitter on the confirmation bias of individuals with the help of algorithms based on vaccine discussions. Accordingly, we used Bourdieu's concept of habitus and the inference that algorithms and filter bubbles on Twitter have similar influences on people. Thus, we questioned the role of social media, which is considered polyphonic from an affirmative perspective, in the process of determining ideas in actual life. The aim of this study is to find out whether Twitter offers the claimed polyphony or whether it prevents different opinions from being heard with the effect of algorithms and confirmation bias. In this study, we used the semi-structured interview approach to measure Twitter users' deeper experiences and to analyze the influence of socio-cultural conditions on the formation of individual opinion. Finally, we explained the findings using a descriptive analysis method. We found that social media platforms, which consist of algorithms and filter bubbles, force users to limit their environment rather than creating polyphony. As a result, they cause individuals' current ideas to be confirmed repeatedly, and their environment to be surrounded by the same opinion.
