Socio-economic factors affecting the development of the tourism industry

The article is devoted to the study of socio-economic factors affecting the development of the tourism industry. The paper gives a brief background to the formation of the tourism industry and highlights the fundamental factors contributing to the development of tourism today. Alternative classifications of the factors under consideration are given and the main aspects of tourism development in Russia are analyzed. The problems of domestic tourism are noted and ways to solve them are proposed.
