The lack of knowledge and the lack of opportunity and willingness of the community, especially the lower middle class to understand PDM, makes discriminatory behavior and fear continue to occur in society which then hinders the process of recovery and development of the potential that a PDM actually possesses. Difficulties in obtaining facilities and knowledge on how to educate PDM, especially during childhood, further hampered the recovery process for PDM themselves. This has an impact on the life of the PDM family itself, the independence of PDM so that the stigma of PDM in society continues. Thus a facility is needed that not only handles and trains PDM but also has educational methods, socialization for families and the community. With increased family and community understanding and knowledge of PDM, it is hoped that their empathy will increase so that they can accept the existence of PDM as members of society who also have their own potential. Kurangnya pengetahuan dan minimnya kesempatan serta kemauan masyarakat terutama kalangan menengah kebawah untuk memahami PDM membuat perilaku diskriminatif dan ketakutan terus terjadi dalam masyarakat yang kemudian menghalangi proses pemulihan serta pengembangan potensi yang sesungguhnya juga dimiliki seorang PDM. Kesulitan mendapat fasilitas dan pengetahuan tentang cara mendidik PDM terutama pada masa kanak-kanak semakin menghambat proses pemulihan bagi PDM itu sendiri. Hal ini berdampak bagi kehidupan Keluarga PDM sendiri, kemandirian PDM hingga membuat stigma PDM di masyarakat tetap berlanjut. Dengan demikian diperlukan sebuah fasilitas yang tidak hanya menangani dan melatih PDM namun juga memiliki metoda pendidikan, sosialisasi bagi keluarga dan masyarakat.
