Smoking is widely recognized as detrimental to health, resulting in social and economic pressures for smokers to quit the habit. In addition to the health damage suffered by smokers, passive smoking affects third parties and contributes to environmental pollution. To address smoking, companies have implemented supportive measures such as reflexology, an alternative therapy that stimulates reflex points on the feet and hands. These reflex points on the hands represent systems of the human body that, when stimulated correctly, have the potential to balance the body's energies. This characteristic makes reflexology a valuable tool in smoking cessation programs. This study consisted of a literature review based on guidelines from the United Nations, resolutions from Brazilian ministries, data from the National Cancer Institute, and contemporary literature relevant to the topic. This research aimed to investigate whether manual reflexology can contribute as part of integrated measures to prevent smoking and facilitate smoking cessation. The study employed Google Scholar and the PubMed database as search tools. The study underscored the importance of reflexology as a valuable strategy in the treatment of smoking, with the potential to contribute to the health and well-being of individuals affected by this addiction.
