This article focuses on the importance of solid-state batteries in this context and their applications in renewable energy storage. Compared to traditional liquid lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries use solid-state electrolytes, providing enhanced safety, higher energy density, and longer service life. This article first outlines the basic concepts of solid-state batteries and the main differences between solid-state batteries and liquid batteries. Subsequently, we provided a detailed description of the historical development and latest technological advancements of solid-state batteries. After introducing the application of solid-state batteries in renewable energy storage, we delved into their performance evaluation, including electrochemical testing, cycle stability, safety, and economic evaluation. Overall, solid-state batteries provide a promising solution for meeting future energy needs.
