The role of temperature on collector adsorption in galena flotation: Implications of seasonal temperature and climate change
This research focuses on studying the effects of the operating temperature and preconditioning time on the adsorption kinetics of sodium diisobutyl dithiophosphinate and sodium isopropyl xanthate collectors on the surface of galena, using contact angle measurements. The results indicate a strong correlation between higher operating water temperature and increased contact angles, suggesting faster adsorption kinetics and heightened hydrophobicity. Statistical analysis underscores the significance of temperature and preconditioning time, both factors being statistically significant. This study delves into the intricate interaction between temperature fluctuations and collector adsorption, contributing to a deeper understanding of flotation processes within the Pb/Cu circuit during seasonal temperature variations.
