LE VIE DEL COMMERCIO E LE VIE DELLA LINGUA: GLI ITALIANISMI MERCANTILI NEL TEDESCO SECONDO IL DIFIT

Il presente contributo si inserisce all’interno del progetto ERC-2020-CoG MICOLL-Migrating commercial law and language. Rethinking lex mercatoria (11th-17th century), progetto che intende indagare l’effettiva esistenza nel Medioevo e nell’Età moderna di una lex mercatoria (ossia di un insieme di disposizioni non statuali su base consuetudinaria applicabili alle transazioni dei mercatores a prescindere dalla loro nazionalità), partendo da una prospettiva di indagine linguistica. In particolare, tramite lo studio della migrazione dei termini mercantili tra italiano e tedesco a seguito degli intensi rapporti commerciali di quei secoli, si vuole vagliare l’eventuale parallelo passaggio degli istituti, strumenti e concetti a essi sottesi. In tale ottica, il presente contributo intende partire dai dati del Dizionario di italianismi in francese, inglese, tedesco (DIFIT) diretto da Harro Stammerjohann per alcune considerazioni sugli italianismi mercantili entrati nel tedesco durante i secoli.   The ways of commerce and the ways of language: mercantile italianisms in german according to DIFIT This essay is written in the framework of the ERC-2020-CoG project MICOLL-Migrating commercial law and language. Rethinking lex mercatoria (11th-17th century), a project that aims at investigating the actual existence in the Middle Ages and in the Modern Age of a lex mercatoria (i.e. a set of non-statutory provisions on a customary basis applicable to the transactions of mercatores regardless of their nationality), starting from a linguistic perspective. In particular, through the study of the migration of mercantile terms between Italian and German as a result of the intense commercial relations of those centuries, it intends to examine the possible parallel transfer of the institutions, instruments and concepts underlying them. Therefore, the present work starts from the data of the Dizionario di italianismi in francese, inglese, tedesco (DIFIT) edited by Harro Stammerjohann for some considerations on mercantile Italianisms that entered German during the centuries.
