Recently, attempts have been made to include specific antimicrobial compounds in restorative materials, mainly GJCs and composites, in addition to fluorides. Conventional composites’ lack of antibacterial qualities implies a lack of an inhibitory impact against plaque accumulation on their surface, allowing bacteria such as mutans streptococci to grow freely. As a result, the antibacterial properties of dental resin composites are crucial to their therapeutic applications.
