Results reveal that in both countries motivating language has positive relationships with an employee’s state-based gratitude, engagement, and psychological empowerment. As predicted, gratitude partially mediates the relationships between ML and the two outcomes. Business and Professional Communication Quarterly is the only refereed journal devoted to research that advances the teaching of communication in the workplace. BPCQ especially welcomes manuscripts that address the principles of SoTL (scholarship of teaching and learning).
