Plants can also be used for bioremediation, characterizing, in this case, phytoremediation. Plants for phytoremediation must show tolerance to the contaminant and the ability to absorb and metabolize it. These plants include pigeon peas, pig beans, crotalaria, vetiver grass, and others.
