Low back pain, is a very frequent disease. Although becoming chronic in only 8% of the cases, this disease is responsible for 85% of related costs. Risk factors for chronicity and work cessation are essentially of psychosocial type. Diagnosis must focus first on the detection of those most severe affections in which a delayed diagnosis may be detrimental. Available treatments are either pharmacological therapies (antalgesics, non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs) or programs of physical exercise such as the recently developed multidisciplinary management by groups.
