To obtain the deterministic solution of Einstein’s field equations, we assume the scalar of expansion to be proportional to the eigenvalue of the shear tensor. The expressions for some parameters of cosmological importance are obtained and physical and geometrical properties of the model are discussed. The correspondence between the new holographic dark energy and quintessence scalar field model is also established by comparing their equations of state and densities. Our results are consistent with the recent cosmological observations.
