Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode tes tertulis dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian diambil 5 dari 27 siswa kelas X-OTKP 2 SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo’oa. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis-jenis kesalahan berdasarkan teori Newman yang muncul saat siswa menyelesaikan soal cerita adalah: (1) kesalahan membaca (2) kesalahan memahami (3) kesalahan transformasi, (4) kesalahan keterampilan proses, dan (5) kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir atau pengkodean. Kesalahan tersebut dapat dilihat dari persentase berikut : kesalahan membaca terjadi sebanyak 39,51%, kesalahan pemahaman terjadi sebanyak 51,85%, kesalahan transformasi terjadi sebanyak 67,9%, kesalahan keterampilan proses terjadi sebanyak 75,31% (kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan peserta didik), dan kesalahan pengkodean 66,67%.Kata kunci : Analisis Kesalahan,Teori Newman, Soal Cerita.ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the errors made by students in solving story problems based on Newman's theory in class X-OTKP 2 SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo'oa. ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL MATEMATIKA BERDASARKAN PROSEDUR NEWMAN KELAS X-OTKP 2 SMK NEGERI 1 GUNUNGSITOLI ALO’OA
