A new reservoir model for the Donghae-1 gas field was constructed using existing seismic and well data for the Donghae gas field, through which carbon dioxide injection simulations were performed according to various injection scenarios. As a result of the simulation, it was found that the Donghae-1 gas field has a safe storage capacity of 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide injection per year for up to about 28 years; this is the initial target rate of the CCS demonstration project using the Donghae-1 gas field.
