The scope of the study consists of the projects designed by the architecture students who took the \"Fire Safety in Buildings\" course in the Fall Semester of the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 Academic Years at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Department of Architecture. Within the scope of the study, 91 student projects were discussed in the context of fire safety in line with the principles in the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings from Fire. The study findings showed that the student projects needed to improve regarding the measures taken against fire. According to this research, the measures taken for fire safety in the projects of architecture students are caused by insufficient and incomplete reading. Such deficiencies can be eliminated with minor corrections in most designs if the regulations are examined. For this reason, it has been determined that at the very beginning of the design phase, measures for fire safety -including legislative readings- should be included in the design stage.
