The teachers at the Ostroh Academy were highly qualified people, figures involved in the life of the Orthodox Church in the Great Duchy of Lithuania and Poland. All of them were known not only in Ostroh. Their knowledge and activity in the public forum were used by the Ruthenian nobility at assemblies, by the magnates in educating their children, and by the Orthodox hierarchy in defense of the rights of their Church. The diverse composition of lecturers in terms of nationality and religion in Ostroh contributed to raising the prestige of the university. The students could not only acquire solid theological knowledge, but also learn about the situation of the Orthodox Church in other countries, especially in the Ottoman Empire. The shortcoming of the teaching staff was its instability.
