The 2022 agreement between the two states is discussed in the context of their cooperation in oceans matters, including a contemporaneous minor adjustment of a 1972 seabed boundary and coordinated extended continental shelf claims. The provision for the access of indigenous Inuit people to Hans Island is considered.
