Job satisfaction among nurses is crucial for ensuring high-quality patient care and retaining skilled professionals in the healthcare workforce. In India, where the nursing profession plays a vital role in the delivery of healthcare services, understanding and addressing nurses' job satisfaction is of utmost importance. To accomplish this objective, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to identify the key determinants of nurses' job satisfaction in India. The findings reveal that several factors contribute to nurses' job satisfaction, including salary and benefits, working conditions, professional development opportunities, leadership support, and the recognition of their contributions. By shedding light on the factors influencing nurses' job satisfaction in India, this discussion paper provides valuable insights for healthcare policymakers, administrators, and researchers. It underscores the importance of prioritizing nurses' well-being and job satisfaction to foster a resilient and effective healthcare system in India. Further research and collaborative efforts are warranted to develop evidence-based interventions that positively impact nurses' job satisfaction and, ultimately, patient care.
