Its incidence has increased globally and in India in the past two decades. Kerala, India, reported its first case of dengue fever in 1997, and the incidence has gradually increased since then, making dengue fever an endemic and serious health problem. This study is a descriptive study of the incidence and mortality of dengue fever in Kerala from its first report till the present.
