One of the directions is bariatric surgery. The review article presents an analysis of the short-term and long-term effectiveness of the use of bariatric surgery methods in patients with NAFLD. Aspects of the influence of bariatric surgery on biochemical and histological parameters of liver fibrosis, changes in insulin resistance and lipid profile, intestinal microbiome involved in the homeostasis of the intestine-liver axis are noted.
