Six state routing model (SSRM) for mobile ad hoc networks
Althouigh there have been a nuimber of' Quality of' Service (QoS) routting protocols already proposed for the Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs), they share the idea that one route should be selected oUt qo all available routes based on optimizing some parameters like delay, throughput or packet loss ratio. In this paper, Six State Routing Model (SSRM) has been proposed tbr QoS throuigh real time traffic support in MANETs. In MANETs, one hop and two hop neighborhood links break frequently dtue to topology, updates and transmission range, which require real time recovery. SSRM addresses the key issues like frequent topology update, transmission range and sleep mode by introducing different states oJ nodes and switching from one state to other takes place through optimization criteria such as throuighput and reliability. All nodes existing in SSRM perjbrm ejfrctive rouiting discovery throu-igh proactive local route infbrmation updates. This will provide reliability of communication by redutcing packet loss ratio and increasing packet delivery ratio in highly dynamic mobile ad hoc
