Rural communities face the greatest risks of job automation, as their economies tend to have activities with a high proportion of repetitive tasks, low economic diversification, and emigration of highly skilled labor. Preparing rural economies to face the challenges and reap the benefits of technological change is crucial to make the most of the digital era for people and businesses. It is necessary to develop a learning management system based on the Moodle platform to improve the teaching and learning processes in the area of technology and informatics, since in the rural regions of Colombia the necessary policies to make the promises of digital technologies a reality for rural growth and welfare are an open debate.
