Revolutionary changes in the development of society are demonstrated in the phases of industrial revolutions. Each of which was usually perceived ambiguously by society at the first stages. Currently, Industry 4.0 is identified as the widespread adoption of digital technologies, especially for Electrical and Energy System. Digitization is an immanent attribute and driver of the development of the world system, including the electric power industry. However, there are already tendencies towards the emergence of the next stage – Industry 5.0, which forms the prerequisites for the development of economic entities in new realities. Industry 5.0 involves the introduction in Electrical and Energy System of innovations as a synergy of automation (digitalization), intelligent devices and systems (artificial intelligence) and human capital. Accordingly, in strategies and programs for the development of the energy industry, it is necessary to take into account the specified components and principles, which will contribute to the achievement of competitiveness, effectiveness and efficiency.
