The new soft-switching converter is formed by adding only two auxiliary components to a conventional boost converter, namely: an active switch and a resonant inductor. The voltage stresses on both the main and auxiliary switches are fixed at V/sub g/+V/sub o/ and they are not proportional to the load range.
