And knowing that most green energy sources (or alternate sources) provide a lower power capacity than the main line, a smart switch is necessary to switch appliances’ power alimentation between these two sources, in order to get the maximum benefit of the power provided by the not metered alternate source. In addition, and in the case of electricity shortage on the main line, this smart switch is supposed to keep important devices ON while avoiding any over consumption on the alternate source, by shutting down some lower priority devices to lower the current consumption and fit the power offered by the alternate source. SMITCH-LB provides the above features in addition to providing the users with the possibility of overriding the automatic prioritization decision and turning on/off the devices based on their own preference.
