It is based on formal specification model which supports MAS requirements. This model, called Open Fuzzy Synchronized Petri Net (OFSyPN), is an extension of Synchronized Petri net enhanced by fuzziness, openness and interaction with environment. The approach is based on a rigorous refinement process. It distinguishes between predictable and unpredictable behaviors.
