A Comprehensive Control Scheme for the Effective Power Management Based on Power Pools in DC Microgrid
In modern power distribution system, standalone direct current (DC) microgrids are progressively explored. Important issues in DC microgrid operation are to ensure voltage regulation and proportional power sharing among sources. To solve these problems, comprehensive control scheme is presented for proportionate power sharing and better voltage regulation. A pivot element of this approach is formation of different power pools based on the accessible power from every renewable energy sources (RESs). In addition, it executes the coordinated operation of all power pools for effective power management. It is possible to make effective use of the energy storage systems (ESSs) by reducing their charging/discharging. Experimental studies prove the capabilities of the proposed scheme.
