Until the present work, only peroxidase-luminol/peroxidase systems had been used in such assays. The light reaction kinetics were studied from the time of initiation of the light reaction up to 2 days later. The methods is illustrated by the determination of myeloperoxidase, based on microtitre plate technology, coupled with a microtitre plate luminometer which needs no injector.
